Rae Slater is a student at New Mexico State University, attempting degrees in both Creative Writing and Computer Science. While she’s always had a knack for English, she never quite understood how far her passion for telling stories went until she started writing fiction in high school instead of doing homework.
Since she began writing as a hobby in 2009, Rae has realized that the most important thing to her is having the ability to dream up situations most would call impossible. She’s finished two novels and started numerous others, constantly on the lookout for the idea that she can call ‘The One’. Her favorite books to write are either dystopian or post-apocalyptic, but most include a strange mix of the two with a dash of science-fiction thrown in.
When she’s not working, writing, or procrastinating her school work, Rae can be found listening to music, watching movies, and wondering if she’d survive the zombie apocalypse—usually at the same time.
Rae currently lives in New Mexico, where she drinks too much coffee to be healthy and has a sweet tooth that makes her crave cinnamon rolls and brownies at odd hours of the night.
